This is going to be a lot of work isn't it? I mean, not just to get your story written and drawn, but also to make this comics anthology a big success, to permeate the main stream and to bring God's truth into the public eye. For something this big, we are going to need a foundation of prayer.

Prayer is important not only because it makes our requests known to God, but also because it instills a proper attitude in our hearts. When we are trusting in God to meet our needs, that makes room for God to work in our lives. The more we submit to God, the more successful we will be. If you ask God for the discipline to finish a project or the right ideas for a story, He will provide. I can testify to God's faithfulness and providence. Even on the weekly comic strip I do for my secular college newspaper, God provides when I ask for his strength and inspiration.

Here's what Jesus says:

Matthew 18

19"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

This is a promise spoken by the Son of God, and we can trust in His words. The great thing that we have going on here is that there is a whole group of artists unified under the same vision. Let's gather together in His name and ask for the success of this project. God will provide.

I pray for inspiration and strength for all the cartoonists who will contribute to this anthology. I pray that this book would be widely distributed and widely sold and widely read and that people would be saved by it. And I pray that Mike would be granted wisdom when editing this book, and that no obstacle would prevent this book from being published.

If you have a prayer for Parables, post it here or just say it to God. If you have a good word to speak, post it here as well.

I'm going to try to start praying for this project everyday. I set my watch to beep at seven o'clock to remind me to whisper a quick prayer for you guys and for this project. Join this daily challenge if you feel led to.

Amen Stephen!!
I was excited to here that ..um.. either Thomas Jefferson or John Hancock declared a day of prayer, fasting and repentance the day they sent off the Declaration of Independence. Not that we are trying to break away from England and start a new country. But as Christians, sometimes the task of convincing people to break away from following Satan can be just as challenging. But I really admire those men's hearts to lead the people to individually draw near to God.

My prayer is that we stay humble, inspired, patient with ourselves and eachother and that if we gain wide appeal, that we (the entertainers or what-have-you), would stay focused on the narrow path.
