Dean Trippe on Newsarama

October 19th, 2006 | Category: Artist Updates

superboy_ld_1.gifToday on some, “let’s see what Dean Trippe is up to on the gajillion websites he has…” browsing time on the web, I found out that he was interviewed a few days ago on Newsarama. If you’re curious to find out a little bit more about Dean, his love of superheroes and his work for the upcoming My Name is Earl project for Oni press, click on his ultra rad Superboy drawing to the left. And be sure to check out some of Dean’s other sites: Project Rooftop, Mainsteam Art and his super fun webcomic Butterfly.

Jinglepaper

October 16th, 2006 | Category: Artist Updates

jinglepaper.jpgTor Blom, our Norwegian liaison for parable, has recently redesigned his website. Not only will you find some very enjoyable paintings and illustrations (make sure you look at the bottom of each main page!) but Blom has also started a monthly web comic called Cup of Tea. There’s only one comic so far but it looks to be a very promising start.

Blom is currently working on a fully painted story for parable. Apparently, each panel of his story is created on it’s own separate canvas. They are so large that Blom has been photographing them and compositing each page together digitally!

Updates

October 10th, 2006 | Category: Artist Updates

I’m going to try to start updating this site about once a week with news and announcements from some of the various creators attached to parable. As new artwork and pages start rolling in, i’ll also start posting some preview images from the anthology.

office.jpgFirst up, Tom Bancroft and Rob Corley recently started a studio blog for their production company, Funnypages Productions. The blog is already full of some really nice work as well as a photo tour of their studio. But the biggest reason you’ll want to click over and check it out is for the previews of two large projects they’re currently working on. Tomo, the first in a series of manga inspired graphic novels due out from Zondervan late next year, and a reimagining of the popular 80’s Christian television series, Superbook!

On another end of the web, Joe Fenton is nearing completion of his long running Vessel project.Vessel151.jpg In celebration of the career mounting acheivement, Joe is offering everyone a chance to guess what the final product is before unveiling it on his site. The first person to successfully follow his clues and give him a correct answer before October 21st wins a free copy of Journey into Descent #1. View the details on his site and read his progress log here.
